Portraits of Authors from New Zealand
Markus Kirchgessner
Markus Kirchgessner, born in Wiesloch at Heidelberg in 1963, visited after his studies in German philology, philosophy and psychology in Freiburg and the FH Darmstadt. Since his graduation in communication-design Markus Kirchgessner works for a numerous magazines, agencies and book publishers at home and abroad. Central point of his work is composed by culinary photograph-projects, as well as travelogues, which leads them to the most diverse places of the world. In the center of his photographic interest are standing the seemingly timeless phenomenon of daily life.
Elsemarie Maletzke
Elsemarie Maletzke, born in Oberhessen and grown up in Bad Kreuznach, worked for famous magazines and newspapers after her voluntary service as an editorial journalist. For a small sample: the satire-journal Pardon, Titanic and Pflasterstrand. But her spectrum is diversified: journal features, books, calendars, garden books, novels, literary anthologies, biographies about the sisters Brontë, George Eliot, Jane Austen, Elizabeth Bowen, Elizabeth Barret and Robert Browning can be found in her publications. Elsemarie Maletzke is a member in the P.E.N.-Club. She is living and working as an author, editor, and free journalist in Frankfurt am Main. Together with the photographer Markus Kirchgessner she travels to New Zealand early 2012, in order to produce portraits of authors of the big New Zealand writers in a photographic-literary project.
