Vocational training and studies
After completing her Abitur in Dortmund, Inés María Jiménez trained as an industrial clerk. She then studied Romance languages and literature with a focus on Hispanic studies and language teaching research at the Ruhr University in Bochum. While still a student, she worked as a Spanish lecturer in adult education at private and public language institutes and as a lecturer at the University of Bochum. After completing her Master's degree, she worked for several years as a journalist in an editorial office in Herdecke.
Author for multilingualism
As the daughter of a Spanish-German family who grew up monolingual with German, Inés María Jiménez decided to live and work in Spain for a year before her studies. The author dealt with the special topic of "international bilingualism" in several lectures and professional articles in German and English as well as in her book "Mut zur Mehrsprachigkeit. How to educate my child in a foreign or second language".
Inés María Jiménez is married, has two daughters and lives in Dortmund.
