Kindergarten and school readings with the German-Spanish author Inés María Jiménez
The multi-talented children's and youth book author Inés María Jiménez was hired for a whole reading tour. She visits kindergartens in Bad Berleburg with her bilingual children's book "Leos Kuddelmuddel / El emrollo de Leo" and with the picture book "Gustav glotzt".
She will also show her works in primary and secondary schools. For the school events Jiménez has chosen her books "Nachts in Belchite" and "Die Insel der toten Puppen", published in German and Spanish.
It will be a very exciting week for the young guests of the Literaturpflaster!

Vocational training and studies
After completing her Abitur in Dortmund, Inés María Jiménez trained as an industrial clerk. She then studied Romance languages and literature with a focus on Hispanic studies and language teaching research at the Ruhr University in Bochum. While still a student, she worked as a Spanish lecturer in adult education at private and public language institutes and as a lecturer at the University of Bochum. After completing her Master's degree, she worked for several years as a journalist in an editorial office in Herdecke.
Author for multilingualism
As the daughter of a Spanish-German family who grew up monolingual with German, Inés María Jiménez decided to live and work in Spain for a year before her studies. The author dealt with the special topic of "international bilingualism" in several lectures and professional articles in German and English as well as in her book "Mut zur Mehrsprachigkeit. How to educate my child in a foreign or second language".
Inés María Jiménez is married, has two daughters and lives in Dortmund.
