As part of the Bad Berleburger Literaturpflaster the VHS Siegen-Wittgenstein is offering an online book club for English-language literature for the first time.

Since Canada is this year's guest of honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair, only works by Canadian authors will be discussed. On this evening, the international bestseller "From the ashes" by Jesse Thistle will be presented and discussed together. The novel was number one on the bestseller list in Canada for several weeks and was listed recently by New York Times.

Further information about Jesse Thistle can be found at:

jessethistle.com

(Depending on the further development of the corona pandemic, a digital stream with the bestselling author Jesse Thistle may be offered, please pay attention to special publications in the public media.)

This digital book club runs via the vhs.cloud as a video conference in English language, where you can actively participate in the discussion and ask questions (chat, camera / microphone usage option, depending on the number of participants).

Good knowledge of the English language is required, but you do not have to be fluent in the language and you are welcome to ask your questions in German. It is spoken slowly and understandably. Please read the book in advance.

Links to explanations regarding the use of vhs.cloud as well as short information on the author and book will be sent out in advance by email.

Participation is free! Registration via the VHS is required!
