Exhibition:
"Reading Images – wenn aus Worten Bilder werden"
by Tom Schoonooghe
Introduction: Talk with author Stefan Boonen and artist Tom Schoonooghe
Reading creates images in the mind of the reader. The Flemish illustrator Tom Schoonooghe uses the phrasing of "reading images". He received a number of awards for his illustrations for children's books. Tom Schoonooghe also works for magazines, theaters, museums, cities and for television.
For his exhibition in Bad Berleburg he takes his illustrations along for both children's books by Stefan Boonen. His expressive interpretations of the novels address everyone. Words become to images. The illustrations recount the story and invite the audience for a travel behind the words.
Illustrator Tom Schoonooghe and author Stefan Boonen will be present and speak about their work in an artist talk.
