Indonesia, this year´s host country of the Frankfurt Book Fair, is well-known as a holiday paradise but less known for its literature. Maybe you have already heard the names of some authors but for the majority Indonesia seems to be a blank spot on the map - concerning literature. That is why it is a real pleasure for the organizers of the Literaturpflaster to welcome Martin Jankowski who introduces the event.

Martin Jankowski is an author, organizer of literature festivals and expert on modern Indonesian literature and he will give an insight into the variety of literal work in Indonesia. His exciting discovery tour between tropics and trauma ranges from the topic of civil war to the lyrical poetry of the 17000 islands. Enjoy an exciting and entertaining evening with literature “on prescription”. It is both: A thread running through the following readings and at the same time an appetizer for Indonesian literature in general.
