by Béatrice Rodriguez
Introduction: Artist talk
Béatrice Rodriguez is an illustrator but actually she is much more because her picture books do not need any words. She talks with colors and her characters tell her story with gestures and facial expressions and thus they come to life. There is not only the tone of the plot in her pictures. Additionally, her creations convey the feelings of the protagonists: fear, joy or boredom.
The heart of the exhibition is the story "The Chicken Thief" and its two sequels. A fox steals a chicken and it soon turns out that the fox is not really hungry but... The pictures tell the stories in a very special way and much better than words could do. Therefore it is recommended to visit the exhibition to see it with your own eyes. At the vernissage, the artist will be present.
