"Kieloben" is an impressive novel that links the history of Norway and Germany. Inga and Mette, one from Berlin, the other from northern Norway, find out by chance that their lives are fatefully connected by the history of their fathers. Their approach to each other develops to a fantastic journey into their inner selves but they are not willing to explore their mental depth: longing meets fear, misunderstandings can be found everywhere. What will remain at the end: love or disappointment?

In this German-Norwegian family novel, the reader adopts on the one hand Inga’s, on the other hand Mette's perspective, knows more and sometimes less than they know. Karin Nohr describes turning points in the lives of two women in an exciting and sensitive way and at the same time she reveals the weak points of two nations.

Karin Nohr, who has long lived in Norway, is accompanied by her Norwegian fellow Stian M. Landgaard, who played a decisive part in researching the novel. Stian M. Landgaard has been living in Berlin since 2015 and will read out his latest novel "Weiße Rose" this evening.
