Kindergarten reading
by Tatia Nadareischwili
Tatia Nadareischwili will show her bilingual picture book in the kindergartens in the course of the Literaturpflaster. Her stories tell in words and pictures about a boy who is not able to sleep in. So he decides to go for a walk and is very surprised to meet a giraffe, a koala bear, and even sperm whales…. Each animal had a different idea how to fall asleep. The boy hides his head under his arm just like the birds use to put their beaks under their wings. As this turns out to be not very useful the boy follows the advice of the otter and lies down on the surface of the water to be cradled by the waves.
But finally the boy has to realize that he is not able to sleep anyway. At last the boy asks the albatross for help. The bird believes that it is only possible to sleep on the wing and not on the ground. Flying is not an option for the boy that is why he decides to go home. He has become tired and falls asleep immediately.
Everybody knows problems falling asleep and this topic makes Tatia Nadareischwili's picture book incomparable.
