Photo Exhibition: "Küste Brasiliens"
Ita Kirsch
Ita Kirsch was born in 1955 as a descendant of German immigrants in Novo Hamburgo, state Rio Grande do Sul, in south Brazil. He is a travel, studio and reportage photographer. He has been consecrating himself since 1984 to shoot both nature and the population all over the world. He already published four books to this subject:
- "Visões do Rio Grande" [Notes of his state] / 2004
- "Bem Brasil" [Genuine Brazil] / 2008
- "Mãos Meninas Mulheres" [Hands, Girls, Women] / 2011
- "Costa do Brasil" [Coast of Brazil] / 2012
He presented his works at 25 solo exhibitions, four group and touring exhibitions and seven multivision shows. He works on photographic essays for magazines, newspapers, websites and blogs. Furthermore he loves to teach photographing.
Simone Blauth
Simone Blauth was born in 1962 as a descendant of German immigrants in Novo Hamburgo, too. She has been attending to photography since 1998. The focus of her work is on essays, visual productions and the distribution of photographic and cultural products. She presented her works at 20 solo exhibitions, besides she organized seven multimedia shows in collaboration with Kirsch and she participated in four group exhibitions. The following quote taken from an interview proves her passion for photography and her country: "It is a kind of religion to us to travel the landscapes of Brazil. It feeds our minds, it is the basis of our faith and it overwhelms us. (...) We cruised many ways on many maps all over the world. But our feelings originate and arise only here, at the place of our roots, it is where our eyes are filled with tears."
